Quick Bio
I'm a software engineer by trade, and by hobby a musician, electronics nerd, typewriter enthusiast (as if there could be more opposite hobbies!), book enthusiast, cat dad of three, practicing Stoic, and all around mildly autistic nerd who's game for learning anything and vehemently opposed to farce and woo. I was born and have always lived in the vicinity of Seattle. (You won't find many travel stories here.) My undergraduate degree was in Linguistics (University of Washington, Seattle) -- although it's been nearly a decade since I deeply studied the topic -- and a double-minor in mathematics and philosophy of mathematics.
My professional life is largely not represented on this website. It may come up in passing, but this is a space to share all the things I don't need to put professional care into, but simply do them because I find them interesting or fun, and do them however I find interesting or fun, even if it is clearly amateurish, and even if it is clearly amateurish despite being a skill I utilize professionally. Personal projects are exempt from professionalism. (Read: Crap code I'd never commit at work is fine when nobody else uses it and improving it stops being fun; this isn't a resume or an advertisement for my professional skills. Look at LinkedIn for that.)
This bio is, as the title suggests, quick. It's my intent that I'm known for what I do, not what I describe myself as, but I'm aware that almost everyone feels a need to know at least a bit about the person they're reading from, so, here it is. Contact me if you feel the need to know more, I'm usually an open book.
